Research Interest

If multiple projectors are used to generate a mosaic image there are two type of problems which need to be addressed. These are geometric correction and photometric correction. Photometric correction is related to change in the brightness and color changes among the projectors and in the regions where the projectors overlap. In this project the focus is on developing techniques which would efficiently provide a pleasing perceptual experience to the user related to change in intensity and color variation among projectors while modifying the overlap region in such a manner that it apperas seamless.

July 2008 – December 2008 (5 months )

Details: I worked on improving the spatial resolution of hyperspectral images. The work done was for a research project focused on finding asbestos in Tuscany region of Italy. The Research Position was funded by University of Florence.

Researcher, Grenoble Institue of Technology
September 2009 – November 2009 (2 months )

Details: Worked on a project related to pansharpening of Hyperspectral Images. This work was done to verify if some of the methods developed for Multispecrtal Pansharpening can be directly used for the Pansharpening of Hyperspectral Images. The research position was funded by Gipsa-Lab.

Details: The duration of the project is approximately 9 months and the focus is on using Google Earth images for estimation population density in both urban and rural areas of Pakistan. The project is funded by HEC.

Details:• My company developed embedded system solutions for TriMedia micro-processor developed by Philips Semiconductors USA. I was involved in the development of video encoder and decoder software for the TriMedia processor. This gave me an opportunity to work on MPEG 1,2,4 and H. 26x 1 and 3 video encoding standards. I was also an active member of the application development team and was instrumental in the development of “video streaming” and “digital video recorder” applications.

June 2010 – Present (1 year 9 months )

Details:Epic Technologies is a start-up providing image processing and computer vision solutions. One of their projects requires achieving seamless displays using multiple projectors. Such type of displays can be used for immersed gaming and simulation environments. There are two main issues geometric and photometric correction of projectors. My work is related to correcting luminance and color mismatch related issues for obtaining a true seamless projector.
